The record fell first to Sebastian Cattelan, breaking the 50 knot barrier for the first time ever. Then 24 hours later Alex Caziergues of France who was the reigning 2007 world kitespeed champion regained the title with 3 consecutive faster runs ending with the new outright world speedsailing record of 50.57 knots !
