Tannum Coconet event
Tannum, wow what a place and what a well set up and organized competition. Wind was great, everyone rode well and there was an awesome atmosphere. This comp wasn't just any old competition; it was what everyone wanted to see in every kiting competition around Australia and probably the world, just so much to do. Just the way that everything was organized and set up was really amazing to see, and to add to that the wind couldn't really have been better. It was a bit inconsistent but didn't stop anyone getting out there and making the most of the completion. And the party continued at night, the organizers always arranged something for everyone to go to at night.
On the Coconet website it states that the competition is Australia's biggest and richest Kiteboarding competition and I cant agree more. Presentation night was awesome with a good band playing. When competitors were called up, they were pretty happy for getting the place they did, and when they walked back down with prize money of up to $1000 for the Open mens and womens, they were even happier. Hope to see everyone at the Coconet competition held in BOWEN and Tannum next year.
