The first wave event of the season was a huge success at Lennox Head last weekend in October.

Over 60 competitors came from all up and down the east coast to ride in the warm waters of Lennox, and they were rewarded with head high waves and cross shore port tack sailing all weekend.

There was a variety of styles and equipment being used, b***er all (no) bow kite action for those who are interested, surboards were popular and some impressive skills were on show. The judges would have had a very hard time choosing between the excellent riders and Traqua congratulates all those who smiled and supported the event regardless of result.

Standout strapless, unhooked riding gave the purists a kick, and got to hand it to the strapped riders also for consistency and giving the spectators value. It was great to see old timers like Matt Tobin charging it alongside the newcomers, and everybody happily getting stuck into whatever waves were on offer.
