Coconet Classic Townsville combines a variety of competition formats to make best the time and conditions, and provide the best show and competition for the riders and spectators. The event will be free for spectators to attend and will be heavily promoted and eventually produced for a variety of TV shows to be aired across Australia and the world.

Dates: Friday 23rd - Monday 26th of September

Venues:
- Friday - Sunday at Pallarenda Beach, Townsville. Pallarenda Beach in Townsville is the ideal location for the main event as it is close to the city centre making it readily accessible to spectators. The location can cater for a large number of riders, and has a small sandbar present on the left-hand side of Three Mile Creek on certain tides that provides a perfect flat water area to use kickers and sliders.

The dates of the competition have been decided upon based around tidal predictions that will have this flat-water area working perfectly.
- Monday at Alva Beach, Ayr. Alva Beach at Ayr is a flat-water kiteboarding paradise. Large sand bars block the ocean chop and allow clean wind to come across, creating a world-class freestyle kiteboarding location. The massive flat water lagoons combined with the strong winds characteristic of Alva Beach during winter-spring make this location ideal for the kicker/slider event, as it will be able to handle numerous structures being set-up, without having a crowding effect. In addition, Alva Beach also produces head high waves on an offshore sandbar once the wind begins to blow at 20-25+ knots from the SE.

MAIN EVENT Pallarenda Beach, Townsville
- Saturday: Day 1 of the main event. Pallarenda Beach.
- with 10 person, half hour heats for round 1
- Top 3 riders from each heat go through to semi-finals

- Sunday: Day 2 of the main event. Pallarenda Beach
- 5 person half hour heats for semi-finals
- top 2 riders from each semi-final go through to final
- 6 person, 45 min final.

- Monday: Kicker/Slider event at Alva Beach, Ayr.
- Free ride event
- Best Trick wins
